I love the view of the patio from the garden. Its beautiful to look at. I can imagine people sitting under it enjoying the garden. New markings on the roof. Do not know what it means. Pipes from below also is seen popping through.

We were at the job site with two cameras. We have fun documenting each other's activity. We find that the showers are coming in. The roof is having plywood put over it.

Meeting with Kaiser

Today, we met for half and hour to plot our future direction and to start our cooperation in developing a wonderful program for JW House. We are going to ask other to sit in on a group meeting to develop the plan.
We discussed the financial situation with Kaiser. We have an understanding as to where we stand.
We will work to have JW House open in late spring.
Lot of work ahead. Lots of excitement and expectation.

JW House board of Director meeting

We had a good meeting. Continue to make effort to raise more fund.
We are going to expand the line of JW House merchandize. However, we are not going to carry inventory so that we do not have to find space that none of us have. Christmas letter is going to be written once again. We are starting a naming campaign where donor may place a small plague with an inscription at places like a guest room for a certain amount of donation. This will help us complete our whole project.
The winter festival is coming along. We are going to have a wonderful program this year.

Taste of Italy hosted by Optimist Club

We were at the Taste of Italy event hosted by Optimist Club of Santa Clara. They have been a great supporter of JW House. The food were prepared by the student of Cupertino High School. The food was delicious. I wish you were there.

The construction of the roof continues. I can see the vaulted ceiling over the living area being formed.

Construction 10-23-07

We got a tour inside of the house. We were told that it will take another week before the roof is completely framed so that it can be covered. We were told there will be lots of natural light inside the house. Did you see the JW House logo on the hard hat!!

Now the rooms are taking shape. The house is starting to have all the walls put up. The roofs beams have been put up one by one.

Meeting with our union

We had a meeting with our hospital's union council today. Barb, Dan our contractor, Anne Marie and myself went to the meeting. Lisa from the union was very helpful. She asked the member of the council to commit to help us. They will try to help in fund raising and even with labor. We exchanged information and Dan promised them to give them area of work that they can do. One thing that brought up was to set a date where all the union people can come to donate their time as individual to help finish the house. Thank you Lisa for continue to try to help. Dan said this is going to be a community project. This would be the best thing that happen to JW House.

Construction 10-17-07

It was raining slightly. It did not stop the construction worker from working. The sun came out later when I got out to take the picture. Now there is so much wood that I cannot see through the house now.

The weather was supposed to be bad today. The rain held off. More roof support can be placed. More walls has been put in too.

Construction 10-15-07

The first wall has been placed. Large wood beam that will hold up the roof is starting to put on top. The one picture here show the beam over the living room and the breezeway leading to the JW's garden.
Its going to rain, it may slow our progress a little.

Construction 10-11-07

The future column for the "breeze way" is up. This is an area of covered space but open to the elements. The wraped woods are the ones that we can see after the building is completed. The builder wants to protect the surface so that it will remain nice. Less work need to be done later after it unwrapped.

Beading for the 4th Annual JW House music festival

We are getting ready for the festival. Student from St. Clare get together to make bead jewrey for our "fashion show". We want to thank every one of them. Of course without their parents nothing would get done. So we thank their parents too.

The walls in the guest room has been erected. The first picture is view from the south. Now the day is getting shorter, by the time I get out there after work, the evening sun is affecting how the camera is capturing the view from north east. Today is the first time it rained after the foundation went in. There is water accumulated in the future dining area.
